The Sidney Village Board met on the above date for the regular monthly meeting. The meeting was opened at 7:00p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance by President Arrasmith. The following trustees were present: Harris, Laurent, Schluter, Bickers, Gadeken, and Hooker. Village Clerk Fish and Treasurer Reinhart were also present. Village Maintenance Supervisor Jeff Wyant and Attorney Miller were absent.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Colten Allen came to speak about his wanting to rezone a property within the 1.5 mile village limit that he is looking to possibly purchase. Clerk Fish incorrectly told him that did not need to present anything to the board that evening. However, she got all the information from him and can get the process started.
PRESIDENT ARRASMITH’S COMMENTS
President Arrasmith asked for a motion to approve the minutes for the
November 7th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting. Trustee Schluter moved that the minutes of the November 7th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting be approved. Trustee Harris seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith asked Mike Friend from Farnsworth to review his findings regarding the bridge inspections in the Village but he did not have any new information as of yet; it will be added back to January's agenda.
ATTORNEY MILLER’S COMMENTS
Attorney Miller was absent.
JEFF WYANT’S COMMENTS
Village Maintenance Supervisor Wyant was absent.
FINANCE REPORT
The financial reports were read by Trustee Hooker. Trustee Hooker made a motion to pay the bills with the additions of $360 to RT Graphics, $100 to IPMAN, $162.35 to Birkey's Equipment, $333.13 to Falcon Equipment, and $57.67 to Rogard's Office Products. Trustee Gadeken seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
STREETS AND ALLEY
Trustee Gadeken stated that he would like Clerk Fish to purchase some door hangers that we could use to let Village residents know of public works projects coming up in their neighborhood. Trustee Gadeken also stated that Village Maintenance Supervisor Wyant purchased a ride on snow blower and that it should be here by December 8th.
WATER/SEWER/UTILITY
Trustee Harris was still waiting on a bid for a drain repair on Byron; he is hoping that we can just cap it.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
Trustee Bickers had nothing to report.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Trustee Laurent had nothing to report.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Trustee Schluter would like Clerk Fish to change the wording on her notice advertising the open Village Board of Trustees positions from one to four open positions. He also wanted to thank Jeff and Terry for putting up the Christmas decorations.
Trustee Gadeken made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:14pm.
