A Public Hearing regarding rezoning properties on Sunset Drive from R-1 to R-2 was held before the regular monthly meeting. No residents showed up for public comment so the board went straight into the regular monthly meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Resident Kurt Foster reported that there was still a white tree flag located at 17 Dunlap Woods and no new tree was planted there. The board responded by stating that the tree that was meant to be planted at that location was planted in another location.
PRESIDENT ARRASMITH’S COMMENTS
President Arrasmith asked for a motion to approve the minutes for the June 6th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting. Trustee Schluter moved that the minutes of the June 6th, Board of Trustees meeting be approved. Trustee Laurent seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith then asked for a motion to approve ordinance #2022-03 “An Ordinance Rezoning 712,714,716,718,720 and 722 South Sunset Road, Sidney, Illinois from R-1 Residential to R-2 Residential.” Trustee Laurent made a motion to approve Ordinance #2022-03. Trustee Hooker seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith then asked for the board to approve the temporary liquor license for Fun Daze on Friday July 29th and Saturday July 30th for the beer tent. Trustee Laurent made a motion to approve the liquor license for Fun Daze. Trustee Hooker seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
ATTORNEY MILLER’S COMMENTS
Attorney Miller did not have any comments.
JEFF WYANT’S COMMENTS
Village Maintenance Supervisor Wyant reported that the trees were marked for the bid process and that he doesn’t know the date for oil and chipping of village roads yet. He is going to be painting curbs and handrails and cleaning up the downtown area in preparation for Fun Daze at the end of the month. Supervisor Wyant also expressed concern that he is not able to weed whack the ditches anymore because there are poisonous plants in there and he became ill. He is gong to work in conjunction with the Township, they have a brush cutter that we can use. The parking lot lines at the Community Building were repainted and are guaranteed for three years. Supervisor Wyant then asked the board if they wanted him to oil and chip the parade route and the answer was yes.
FINANCE REPORT
The financial reports were read by Trustee Hooker. Trustee Hooker made a motion to pay the bills; there were no additions. Trustee Laurent seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
STREETS AND ALLEY
Trustee Gadeken did not have any comments.
WATER/SEWER/UTILITY
Trustee Harris was absent.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
Trustee Bickers was absent, but Supervisor Wyant stated that permit #745 was issued to American Storage for 11 portable sheds added to their storage facility. Permit #746 was skipped, permit #747 was issued to 208 South Scarborough for a portable shed, and permit #748 was issued to 510 Witt Park Road for a permanent shed.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Trustee Laurent stated that they have 3 teams for fall ball and that he will need to put discuss purchasing a new net at ball park for foul balls on next month’s agenda instead.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Trustee Schluter reported that the website is up to date and that he had the new address for the community building added to it.
Trustee Laurent made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Gadeken seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:27pm.
