PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Mike Friend with Farnsworth Group wanted to let us know that their Business Development Representative, Matt Davidson, was at Sidney Fun Daze this past weekend and was super impressed with it and had a great time; he also expressed how nice it was to meet Clerk Fish and Treasurer Reinhart at the CIMOA meeting in Mahomet.
PRESIDENT ARRASMITH’S COMMENTS
President Arrasmith asked for a motion to approve the minutes for the July 5th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting. Trustee Gadeken moved that the minutes of the July 5th, 2022 Board of Trustees meeting be approved. Trustee Laurent seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
President Arrasmith then asked for the board to approve up to $2,000 for Clerk Fish to attend her annual Municipal Clerk’s Institute in Bloomington in October. Trustee Laurent made a motion to approve up to $2,000 for Clerk Fish to attend MCI in October. Trustee Harris seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote.
ATTORNEY MILLER’S COMMENTS
Attorney Miller did not have any comments.
JEFF WYANT’S COMMENTS
Village Maintenance Supervisor Wyant was absent.
FINANCE REPORT
The financial reports were read by Trustee Hooker. Trustee Hooker made a motion to pay the bills; with the additions of $85.19, $37.39, and $30.90 to Illinois American Water, $165 to Royal Bookkeeping Services, and $300 to Miller and Hendren. Trustee Bickers seconded the motion; the motion carried with all ayes on a roll call vote.
STREETS AND ALLEY
Trustee Gadeken reported that the tar and chipping of the Village roads should be completed by the end of August.
WATER/SEWER/UTILITY
Trustee Harris had nothing to report.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
Trustee Bickers had nothing to report.
PARKS AND RECREATION
Trustee Laurent stated that he had checked on the price of a foul ball net for the Witt Park ball diamonds and that it would cost an estimated $120,000. Trustee Laurent then suggested that we could perhaps just build rooftops over the bleachers to protect fans from foul balls for a much lower cost.
Trustee Laurent then stated that the Village has three accounts with Comcast for internet service and that our two year contract with them has ended and our bill will go up $110 per month if we do not renew another two year contract with them. Trustee Gadeken made a motion to renew our contract with Comcast. Trustee Harris seconded it; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote with Trustee Laurent abstaining since he is employed with Comcast.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Trustee Schluter was absent.
Trustee Laurent made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Harris seconded the motion; the motion passed with all ayes on a roll call vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:21pm.
